Steve Gerber is Senior Vice President & GM of Embedded Products at EyeLock LLC. Since joining EyeLock in early 2015, Gerber has lead the company to create useful and compelling embedded iris-based identity authentication solutions for OEMs. Through the creation of EyeLock’s center of excellence in Austin, Texas, Gerber has enabled EyeLock to pivot from a physical access security solution provider to an OEM enabler of iris identity solutions for computers, smartphones, automobiles, business printers, and medical products.

Mr. Gerber has nearly 30 years of engineering, marketing, business development, and strategic planning. His passion for strategic innovation through organic growth has led to a remarkable string of successful commercialization and profitability. 

Mr. Gerber earned a BSET undergraduate degree from Purdue University (1988) and an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management (2000). He is also inventor of US Patents: 8,358,285; 8,288,672; 8,363,894; 8,698,471, 9,280,245, 9,349,035, 9,651,421 and many patent-pending.

Maxim Integrated (NASD: MXIM)

Maxim Integrated designs and manufactures highly integrated analog and mixed-signal semiconductors. For fiscal 2011, Maxim reported revenue of approximately $2.5 billion. Mr. Gerber served as Executive Director of the Human Interface Business Unit. The team was subsequently purchased by Qualcomm for an undisclosed amount.

Silicon Labs (NASD: SLAB)

Silicon Laboratories is a leader in high-performance, analog-intensive, mixed-signal integrated circuits. With more than 20 years of industry experience spanning engineering, marketing, business development and strategic planning Mr. Gerber performed as the Director of Human Interface Products at Silicon Labs.

Shortly after joining Silicon Labs in October 2008, he was chartered with developing a business based upon a portfolio of user interface products. The result was a $28M/year touch screen and optical product portfolio business.

Cypress Semiconductor (NASD: CY)

Cypress Semiconductor designs and manufactures semiconductor solutions for the communications and networking markets for enterprise and consumer applications. Cypress is primarily known for its leadership in programmable products including the Programmable System-on-Chip (PSoC) family of devices. Gerber held numerous positions from February 1999 to October 2008 first as a Senior & Staff Applications Engineer, Senior Automotive Marketing Manager, and finally Director of Marketing and Applications with the Cypress MicroSystems start-up that successfully brought to market the PSoC, CapSense, and EZ-Color brands. Gerber was an integral part of the team that pushed the start-up environment from $3M/Qtr to $55M/Qtr revenue and defined the next generation PSoC-3 and PSoC-5 devices.

CTS Corporation (NYSE: CTS)

CTS Corporation designs and manufactures a broad portfolio of electronic products for communications, automotive, and military applications. Mr. Gerber began his post-undergraduate career with CTS Frequency Controls Division in May of 1988 serving as a circuit designer. Within one year, he was promoted to Design Engineering Manager and successfully managed a team of Engineers for the next 10 years.
